Sustainable Art Workshop
The idea of recycling plastic bags has been around for over 20 years, and with the major threat of plastic pollution globally, the intention of these recycling workshops is to empower people with skills to create art using sustainable sources, and repurpose waste.
In this plastic recycling workshop, participants will learn from artist Cesar (Aoracreo) who has researched and experimented with the potential uses of plastic bags for over 8 years. Through years of experimentation, he has been able to produce a number of different products such as bags and wallets, and he has found that there is no need for more extraction of natural resources to make new raw materials for the production of these.
The products or materials made by participants are for them to take home or for future projects.
The essence and intention of this workshop is to explore creative and useful ways for people to recycle plastics, and ultimately reduce the impact on the environment.
Every participant will create their own wearable art and accessories from upcycled plastics to take home at the end of the class
